"A situation in which Israel controls the entire territory between the Jordan River and the sea, and allows different sets of rights to exist based on national-ethnic identity, will be called under the best circumstances Israeli apartheid. Israel will lose its moral right to exist as a nation. Israel will lose the ability to claim it is a democracy. The Israeli and Palestinian people will suffer beyond imagination once the situation devolves into the next round of violence, when everyone is fighting everyone for everything. De derde editie van dit filmfestival heeft opnieuw een zeer gevarieerd programma voor u klaar: Een brede waaier van films en documentaires biedt een kijk op het leven van de Palestijnen en schetst de context waarbinnen hun leven zich afspeelt. Uniek beeldmateriaal dat u zeker moet gezien hebben! Waar mogelijk geeft de filmmaker zelf duiding bij de vertoning. Naast films en documentaires vormen lezingen, expo’s, panelgesprekken en muziek een essentieel onderdeel van het festival.
Wat mag u zeker niet missen? * Op 10 april in Gent: de lezing van voormalig minister-president Dries van Agt, een actief voorvechter van een rechtvaardiger Midden-Oostenbeleid. * In Gent (23.04), Brussel (04.05) en Antwerpen (25.04): Roadmap to Apartheid, een documentaire die de gelijkenissen toont tussen de Apartheid in Zuid-Afrika en het leven van de Palestijnen. * De expo Visible Absent: die verzet in het dagelijkse leven in beeld brengt, van 28.04 tot 26.05 in Daarkom, Brussel.
